With the recent surge in activity from major oil and gas companies entering the CBM exploration & the shale gas development in the Asia Pacific region, Oil & Maritime is planning to organize the First India unconventional gas forum (IUGF) 2010 which will be an excellent opportunity to meet all the relevant players in the CBM / Shale Gas sector. With the involvement from major oil and gas companies for the CBM exploration in the Asia Pacific region, the forum aims at highlighting the opportunities of this sector and the economic feasibility for the commercialization of CBM in Asia. |

The forum will also focus on the shale gas development in Asia & how will the shale gas discoveries change the face of the natural gas market. India has huge shale deposits across the Gangetic plain, Assam, Gujarat, Rajasthan, and many coastal areas. It is also a known fact that gas has long been found in shale across the world, but due to its low permeability its extraction has been viewed as uneconomical. Hence exploration for oil and gas has traditionally focused on limestone and sandstone, which have high permeability. The conference will also focus on the government’s approach to draft an exploration policy for Shale Gas. |

IUGF 2010 is the most significant event that will examine the growth in Asia’s unconventional gas industry. The conference will have presentations from experts which will give an update on the opportunities in this industry & will provide a platform for the professionals to share best practices, generate new business potentials and discuss strategies. The forum will feature a wide range of presentations & interactive panel discussions involving representatives from the Ministries, Directorate General of Hydrocarbons, E & P companies, Academics, automation technology professionals from all over the globe & many more. |

This conference not only provides commercial and practical insights to capitalize on Asia’s unconventional gas opportunities but opens up the arena to explore other unconventional gas avenues, particularly shale gas. |
